The Incredible History of Nikkei Delta Farmers, Part II

  • Buddhist Church of Sacramento 2401 Riverside Blvd Sacramento, CA 95818 (map)

Dear Friends of the Kansha History Project,

The Kansha History Project is returning to the Buddhist Church of Sacramento on August 24, 4-6 pm, for an exciting Part II to the well-attended and dynamic meeting last year. The event will:

  • Continue to connect people to their farming histories, including the 60 people who were “waitlisted” last year.

  • Release information about the successor farmers and provide a high-level analysis of that land transition.

  • Release information about the federal loan program that subsidized corporations and individuals to take over these farms.

  • Hear more stories of Nikkei farming families.

Preregistration is limited to directly impacted families, and volunteers and supporters of the Kansha History Project. Please register at your earliest because we might fill up. There will not be a live video feed but we will try to record the event.
