SHINE Forward: Expanding Intergenerational Storytelling to Empower the Next Generation of ARI

SHINE Forward is intended to empower AANHPI and underserved youth as storytellers, leaders, and cultural ambassadors who are equipped to elevate community narratives within a multiracial democracy and to ensure that the lived experiences of AANHPI elders are preserved with care and shared with intention.

In this workshop, young people (14-24 years) will learn from expert journalists and members of the Asian American Journalists Association Sacramento Chapter. Topics:

• Interviews

• Reporting

• Photo & video

• Video Editing

• Brainstorming Projects
